Mikaela Monet, formerly known as ALAYA, is a Venezuelan singer-songwriter and actress who has made her mark on the Latin artistic scene. She was named a “Latin Artist on the Rise” and one of the “5 Latin Female Acts to Watch” by Billboard, and in 2020 was nominated for “Best New Female Artist” at Premios Lo Nuestro, sharing the category with artists like Rosalía.

She made her acting debut in the Amazon Prime Video original film “El Sueño de Ayer / Mambo Dreams”, co-starring Mexican rock icon Rubén Albarrán and directed by acclaimed filmmaker Emilio Maillé. The story unfolds across two time periods, allowing Mikaela to portray two distinct lead roles—one set in the 1960s and another in the modern day. She also wrote and performed three original songs for the film’s soundtrack, blending her musical talent and emotional depth into the film’s story.

Most recently, Mikaela’s performance in “Becoming Vera” earned her the “Best Supporting Role Award” at the Hollywood Park Film Festival, where the film also won “Best Picture.” Directed by Spanish filmmaker Sergio Vizuete, the coming-of-age drama continues to make waves on the festival circuit after premiering at the Cinequest Film Festival, where it reached the #1 trending spot and won the “Audience Choice Award.”
